Dhangar Community
The Dhangars are a pastoral, nomadic community in interior regions of Maharashtra. They are shepherders, rearing sheep of Osmanabadi and Ranipuri breeds. We got an opportunity to meet two such groups over two days. They carry their entire belongings on pack horses / mules and setup tents in empty fields as the day ends. Point to note is that all of them have Aadhaar cards.
